Monitoring Safety at Site


I. ‘Safety’ of employees, materials and equipment is monitored and ensured by ‘safet y officer’ appointed at each site. He co -ordinates directly with client’s safety department and implement necessary requirement.
II. To ensure personal safety, proper protective clothing, goggles, safety harness, safety shoes, helmets& ear plug etc. are provided to each and every employee .Safety officer/ respective engineer/ supervisor ensures their proper uses by the employee while carrying out respective work. No person is allowed to work without appropriate safety gears.
III. First aid boxes completely equipped as per SOP are provided at appropriate location.
IV. To ensure material safety as well as human safety, the safety appliances are stored in demarked areas. A safety tape is fixed around to isolate the same from other working areas. While handling the materials, it is ensured that the same will not get damaged or deformed.
V. Before lifting/ shifting the materials, proper rigging plan is ensured by the safet y officer/respective engineer/supervisor. He also checks and ensures that the job weight is well within the rated capacity of lifting tools, tackles and accessories.
VI. Necessary isolation by fixing ‘Safety Tape’ is provided around any on-going work to avoid any accidental injury or damages.
VII. Safety signs / safet y instructions boards are provided at adequate locations to keep awareness about safety and also follow safety norms.
VIII. Any lifting & shifting equipment like crane ,hdra,trailer & tractor etc. are periodically checked and vehicle fitness certificate issued for safe work.



Handling Accident Cases


Even after taking all the necessary precautions and safety measures, if an accident took place, below SOP are follows:--
i. First Aid must be provided to injure person immediately.
ii. All unsafe condition at site to be attended/ removed so that it will not cause any further injury or loss to property.
iii. Any major / minor accident must be reported in ‘Requisite form’to higher authorities (may be Head of Organizations) giving all the details and root cause analysis.
iv. Safety officer and/ or safety committee will investigate & analyse root cause reports and remedy. Necessary actions taken based on committee report & leanings to avoid re – occurrence.
v. These actions will be documented and informed to all concerned for their necessary responsibility and accountability by tool box talk or any other communications.



Training on Safety


Periodic induction safety training to all employees is given by competent authority/ officer. These are general/site/job specific training before entering in the job area.



Health


i. It is necessary that every individual reporting at site is in good mental and physical health to ensure good quality and required efficiency delivered during his working.
ii. During induction training, every employee is informed about maintaining good health and in case of any sickness/ illness or serious injury happened must be reported to the site in charge. Depending upon the severity/ seriousness, the employee is advised to take leave and get treatment from a doctor decided by the company . If the employee is covered under ESIC, he is advised to go to nearest ESIC dispensary/ hospital for treatment/medical support.
iii. If an employee is suffering from any contiguous decease or epidemic decease, he is not allowed to report on duty until he gets fitness certificate from the examining doctor.



Environment Protection


Every employee is trained and instructed to keep the work place clean, neat, and tidy and ensure that no scrap, dirt or rejected/ unwanted material is lying around work place.
After cleaning the site he is advised to ensure disposal of scrap, waste at appropriate location in classified bins.
In case of accidental spillage of oil, it is collected and disposed off as directed by the client.
Employees are advised to handle with care hazardous gases such as Hydrogen, LPG etc. so that they are not left free in atmosphere unburnt.
